Recap of 2010/2011 School Year
2010/2011 was another amazing school year for all of the Calle music groups!
The Choir received an Excellent rating at the Music in the Parks festival at Disneyland and put on two sold out plays of Beauty and the Beast. The Concert Band received a Superior Rating and took 1st Place at the Music in the Parks festival at Disneyland. The Jazz Band received an Unanimous Superior Rating at the Western State Jazz Festival as well as another Superior Rating (with the highest overall score) at the Brookhurst Jazz Festival. Several Jazz Band members also received Outstanding Soloist awards at both the Western and Brookhurst festivals. The Wind Ensemble received a Superior rating from the SCSBOA Festival and an Unanimous Superior Rating at the SCSBOA Regionals which is the 3rd year in a row! It was a huge accomplishment for the Wind Ensemble as they moved up from Class D category to Class C and even played some Class B pieces that were much more advanced. They also performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and received a Gold Rating. We also put on three sold-out concerts at the James Armstrong Theater as well as several other performances throughout the year. I couldn't be more proud of all of these students! I want to thank all of the many helpful parent volunteers for all you have done this year!
